Welcome to the Northern Region Rally

The RNZAF Base Auckland - Aviation Sports Club invites you to join us at the Whenuapai Air Force base on Saturday 24th October 2020 for the Flying NZ Northern Region Rally.
Please note that the competitions will be held on the northern side of the airfield where the gliding usually operates from.

Saturday 24th October is Fly in and competition day. The day will conclude with the Presentation dinner and results announced at Hobsonville RSA, commencing at 1900hrs.
Supporters wishing to attend and travel to the airfield by car will come via Punga Road to the corner of Karaka Road.
Entrance onto the airfield will only be allowed to registered competitors and supporters, who must wear a hi-vis vest.

Breakfast (Continental or Cooked) is available at the competition base on the airfield on competition day. Cost $15 per person. (pay when registering)

Lunch is available between 1230 and 1330. The cost is $15 (pay when registering)

The Presentation Dinner will be held at the Hobsonville RSA at 7pm. The cost is $30 per person. (pay when registering)

Morning and afternoon tea available on the field - gold coin.

There are no landing charges.

Sunday 25th October - Backup competition day
  Fly out.  

Avgas There will be a limited refuelling capability available for the weekend. Competitors are advised to refuel aircraft prior to arriving at NZWP

Hi Vis vests It is a Flying NZ and an Airport requirement that hi vis vests must be worn whenever airside. (This includes the Parking area). Please do remember to bring one for everyone who is coming, this will include supporters

Accommodation If you require accommodation recommendations please advise. We are presuming that most competitors and supporters will be Auckland based. None the less we can make recommendations if required.
Other Operators/Scheduled Services Given that Whenuapai is an active military base and can be called out for SAR duties at any given time we need to be aware that RNZAF operations will take precedence.
The Tower will be on watch during the competitions

GA Parking Only competition aircraft will be able to fly in.
