ABOUT
Hawera Aero Club is located at the Hawera Aerodrome, a privately owned grass airfield located at 343 Waihi Road (State Highway 3), the main road North from Hawera. We are the only aerodrome in South Taranaki.
We offer flying instruction in two fixed wing trainers (Cessna 152/Cessna 172) and a Microlight (Foxbat A32). The main runway has PAL lighting for night operations, and there is an AWIB available. Avgas is available when instructors are there, by prior arrangement, or there is a phone list at the fuel tank. Parking and tie-down area available. No landing fees for planes under 1600kg. Free WiFi.
Instructors are available 9.00am to 5.00pm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. Office hours are 9.00am to 1.00pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
